Can I use "whom" here?

Can I use whom instead of who in this sentence?

She didn't mention who she'd told about the incident in the woods. (whom, since she'd told "him/her"?)

cloudpixie Can I use whom instead of who in this sentence? Yes, but it is more typical in modern English to drop the "m" when the pronoun 'whom' is "fronted" (made the beginning of a clause), as in a direct question or a relative clause. In your sentence 'whom' is much more formal than 'who'.
