"I have over four years of experience designing and developing websites. During this periodI worked in several companies where I've gathered a broad knowledge base in the web design field."
My questions:
Can I use past simple with present perfect in the second sentence? Is the second sentence right?
Thanks in advance.

I see the writer as doing two things in this sentence. 1. Stating past historical information. (I worked . . ) 2. Indicating that past activity has relevance to the present situation (which I assume involves a job application or interview).
