Hi! Please take look at the sentence below.
The applicants, John Smith and Jane Smith, has submitted an application to the institution concerning the approval of adoption, requesting to approve the adoption of Jim D., personal identity number XXX, and to register them as a child’s parents and to grant Jim the surname Smith and name – Jim.
Is the underlined "of" correct? Can you approve the adoption "of somebody"?
