I can't see how "itself" fits here. I do not know, however, if its refers to the manufacturer or to Japan.

Note: 200 aircrafts
You also need an article before 'Italian'.

The government of Japan ordered 200 aircraft from an Italian commercial jet-manufacturer, making this order in itself the largest order ever placed by any entity in the aviation business.

(I see no rationale for 'in itself'.)

Making this order its largest = nonfinite verb + object
Ever = Adverb modifying 'placed'
Order

My best guess:

making this order its largest ever order— adverbial non-finite clause.
this order—noun phrase object of verb 'makiing'.
its largest ever order—noun phrase, complement of 'this order'.
ever—adverb modifyi
