Can I use a colon? "The simple answer is: hide in the closet."

1-The simple answer is: hide in the closet.

2-The simple answer is hide in the closet.

3-The simple answer is 'hide in the closet'.

Which is correct? Which is preferred? (I want to add emphasis to 'hide in the closet'.)

Thanks!
