Can i start a sentence with "Because"

Because of the slow process and lack of communication regarding the loan, I decided not to proceed purchasing the land. In addition, I had doubts and lack of faith in my agent. Thanks

I would say this:


As the processing of the loan was happening slowly and there was lack of communication about it, I decided not to proceed with the purchase of the land. In addition, I could not trust my agent.
