Can I shorten this first sentence to the second or is it not good?
1) He saw an injured woman on the floor, so he picked her up, put her over his shoulder and carried her down the stairs.
2) He saw an injured woman on the floor, so he picked her up over his shoulder and carried her down the stairs.
#1 sounds a little awkward to me. #2 is fine. Clive
