Can I say so?

"(But soon after that Dobun died, leaving his young wife and two sons.) And here miracles start to happen. Not having a husband, Alan-goa gave birth to one son after another."

Can I say so or should I remake the sentences? Can I use the present tense sentence between the two past ones?
