Can I say, "I've been bathing when the phone rang." Please advise, thx sooooo much!

Dear all,

I am instructed to use present perfect continuous tense to complete the sentence below. However,I am not sure if I am correct.
Please advise, thx sooooo much! =D

I have not been able to call you because I have been bathing when the phone rang.

May I know if the word "rang" is not written in the correct tense? please help correct, many thanks!!!
