Can I say "do" or "does" instead of repeating the verb?

Can I say "do" or "does" instead of repeating the verb?

For example:

I have a gf and my friend does too.

instead of

I have a gf and my friend has (gf) too.

I'm not talking about the emphatic "do" or "does" here.

Yes, and it's the more usual way to do it. "I have a girlfriend and my friend has a girlfriend" isn't wrong, but sounds rather long-winded.
