Can I say "after getting scared"?

Does this sentence make sense?
Watching Supernatural, I burst out laughing after getting scared.
What I meant is "I was watching Supernatural, and I got scared, and then I burst into laughter."
Can I say "Watching Supernatural, I burst out laughing after getting scared' to express this idea?
