Can i replace "save" with "leave" and "remain" in this sentencebelow to make the same meaning?

" Save some pizza for dinner"
  =remain / leave.

 IF not. why can't it change?

These are OK:

Don't eat all the pizza. Save some pizza for dinner. (This one is better.)
Don't eat all the pizza. Leave some for dinner.

They ate all the pizza for lunch. Not a crumb remained. None was left over for dinner.
