Can I omit the term 'like' when transcribing?

Hello, I am an international student studying in the U.S. I am transcribing a recorded interview for my in-class project. I noticed there were too many "like" used in the sentences. For example,

"I went to maybe like one meeting of student for .... and I just feel like I fit in then......It wasn't that big may be like 15 people .....the rock climbing club it was more like "hey, this is who we are, come on and trip with us, .."

Should I omit them or replace it with other words? Although it will not be published, I wonder how to deal with it if published. I need your opinion!
