Can I consider That Adam was 'ill-mannered' and Felix 'well-mannered'?

Hi teachers,
According to the following context, can I consider That Adam was 'ill-mannered' and Felix 'well-mannered'?
Listen to the Inspector, Adam said angrily. He wants to ask you some questions.
Felix sat down and smiled at Marta.

Thanks in advance.

I'd say that well- and ill-mannered describe a person's general state, not their behavior in one instance. Anyway, Adam's anger might have been justified by Felix's incessant smirking at Marta, his next intended victim.

Hi ennon,
Thank you for your reply.
Well, Adam plays the role of the bad policeman and Felix is the good one.
Then, I guess I could say that Adam was ill-mannered with Marta. Would that work in that context?

Ah. Like I said, I think "ill-mannered" describes a person's habitual demeanor, so, no. He was harsh with her, or he was rude to her, or he was severe with her. There are a million ways to put it.

No. "How did Adam speak to Marta?"

Hi Grammar Geek,
Thank you for your suggestion.
Isn't that one too easy?
How about this one? Could it be possible?
Was Felix rude to Marta? How do you know it?

It requires too much extrapolation. Maybe Marta had been being a total jerk before hand and he was just out of patience.

Hi Grammar Geek,
Thank you for your repply.
As far as I know she hasn't met them before and she hasn't been a real jerk either. But maybe you are right and my questions requieres too much extrapolation.
