Can I change it?

Hello

May I ask if the sentence #1 can use instead of #2 when I'm talking about food.?
If so, is #2 used often or rarely?

#1 Would you like to try a piece?
#2 Would you like to taste a piece?

Thank you.

Hi, #1 Would you like to try a piece? #2 Would you like to taste a piece? They're both fine.

  • Use 'a piece' if you are eating something that can be served in pieces, eg pizza.
  • Otherwise, more usual might be something like 'some' or 'a little'.
