Can cars "stand"?
I'm describing the situation: I was driving my car. I stopped at a traffic light when the traffic light turned red.
If i'm pedistrian i can say "I was standing at the traffic light" But if i'm in a car, should i say:
"I was standing"
"I was staying"
"i was waiting"
?
Can i use the verb "stand" with the noun "car"?

Yes Standing is when you are in the car not moving with the motor on. In some cities you see street signs that say no parking no standing.

Yes, but that use of 'standing' for a motor vehicle is pretty well limited to signs.
If I say 'Tom was standing outside the school, waiting for his friend', you are not going to think that he might be in a car, are you?
