Hi,

Are there any exceptional rules concerning the mid-position of adverbs? For example, sometimes I come across some sentences that do not obey the rule " Modal + Adverb + Verb ", such as " can be widely used ". In many contexts this form is preferred more than the form " can widely be used ". What form do you think is more common and, of course, more acceptable?

Thank you
