Can anyone polish this for me?

Dear all,

below is the first draft of a summary. I've already been given a couple of comments from my teacher but I'd like to have a second opinion. Can anyone help me make it perfect?

Thanks for any help

William Caxton introduced printing into England around 1477, when he set up his printing press in Westminster. Adding to the publishing work, he translated books into English, striving to make them approachable to people. At that time, English was but a collection of dialects. Caxton chose the one most widely understandable, which eventually developed into modern English.Though he did a lot of work towards stabilizing English, it was not until much later that his invention came into massive use and its importance was fully appreciated.

Hello,

thanks for you comments. By 'approachable' I meant something like 'accessible'( which probably sounds better here?)

Well, the teacher disliked the following:

Adding to the publishing work - "clumsy"

English was but a collection - "literary, does not follow academic style"
