Essay & Composition Writing

Can anyone please correct and grade my texts below

Here they are.

In the lecture, the professor made some interesting points. He called doubt about the age of the article. Since it has been written seventeen years ago, it doesn't correspond anymore with the nowadays psychology, some of the psychologists are more tolerable about the risk-taking personality. Another important argument of his was about if the risk-takers are or not willing to die. He believes that there is no death wish in that kind of person, as a matter of fact, the risk-takers are extremely confident about themselves, they really don't expect to fail. For example, he told that the motorcycle racers don't expect to fall off their vehicles. The reason of that confidence is because these people really trust in their skills and abilities. He also states that a "universal risk-taking personality" isn't real, after all, we all need to take some risks in our lives, and that is beneficial for us. Later on the lecture, the teacher comments another disagreement of his with the article. On the text, it's affirmed that there is no reward on risk-taking. According to the professor, there is indeed a reward on this behavior. First, there is a physical reward. When some people take risks, the body liberates chemical compounds, like adrenaline, in the blood stream. When that happens, the person fells a pleasure sensation, making they want to repeat the risky behavior. Another kind of reward is the psychological type. Usually, the risk-takers are more confidents and with a higher self-esteem. In the end of the lecture, the professor concludes saying that he disagrees with the idea of considerate the risk-taking personality a mental illness.

Generally, I prefer to read fiction books. There are several reasons for that choice. The first one is about the liberty of the fictional histories. Since the writer is free, he can create exclusive and awesome new worlds and realities. A great example of an entire new world created in a fiction book is the Middle-Earth, of the novel Lord of The Rings - The Fellowship of The Ring. Another incredible thing possible in the fiction is to create great characters, that we can really admire and identify ourselves. One example of that is the Dumbledore character, of the Harry Potter series. I really like the history itself too. In the fiction, the narrative can be epical, with a lot of adventure and action, with a space for emotion and drama also.
The non-fiction books can be great too. A biography of a great character can reveal incredible life-histories and inspirational personalities. A great biography that I’ve already read is the one from Antônio Carlos Jobim, a great Brazilian song-writer. Discovering about his career is really interesting, but there is always be a disadvantage: there is no room for imagination. A correspondence with the reality is obligatory. I really don't like self-help books. In my opinion, when we read some book, it's a moment of traveling in our imagination and escaping of our routine. That isn't possible with that kind of writing.
In the fictional books, we can find great creatures too. I really enjoy when I imagine a world with a sad robot, like the one of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy and elves, dwarves and hobbits of the Lord of The Ring series. Centaurs, gods, demigods, wizards and heroes from the tales of the Ancient Greece are another excellent example.
But, as I've already said, the biggest advantage of the fictional books is the possibility of we transport ourselves into the history. I really love to imagine fighting the Helm's Deep Battle of The Lord of The Rings, or playing the magic chess in Harry Potter. There are millions of opportunities only available through the reading and when there is a magical and epic history in the book, we can only rest and enjoy the wonderful travel.

Thank you very much, I really need that help.

Tip: The second text is a open essay about wath type of book do I prefer: fiction or no-fiction.
