00I was a designer for the first time. It was an unexpected experience. And I thought I00’00d happy about falling into the design field. Do you know what I mean?02br

00It was an exhibition which held in 2002. It was the first design festival in 00. Luckily, my professor was planning the exhibition and made all students to participate the exhibition. It was a big stage together with many artists and London Designer00’00s Block Teams and Tokyo Designer00’00s Block Teams. The main subject of the festival was glasses design and the second subject was humorous. It called 00“00eye-rony00”00.02br

00A few ideas came out. One of them was book glasses.00 00Both sides of the glasses are used as a screen for users. Users can read books and articles, etc through the glasses. And the other side of the glasses had translated texts and articles in English. It was a futuristic thought that the both sides of glasses used as a screen.02br

00The other idea was drawing glasses. I focused on more humorous than the first idea. Glasses are not only the protection of eyes, the second eyes for people but also the fashion item. So I got the idea that you can draw glasses whatever you want. You can make any kind of glasses, any color and any shape.02br

00For Book Glasses, I bought old-fashioned big glasses at the traditional market. Then I put letters on it. It was easy going. But Drawing Glasses had a problem. I prepared the eyebrow pencil and the eraser when I took a picture for the poster. At the exhibition place, I hadn00’00t decided how to present my idea well. Because my picture on the thick plastic plate was hanging from the ceiling connected with wires. There were no ways to put my tools. I was thinking about from the marker to the lettering 00‘00O00’00. I chose the lettering but it wasn00’00t good enough. So, the student right next to me was wearing my drawing glasses at the exhibition. And I was wearing someone else00’00s.02br

00It was a great experience to learn how to exhibit. I00’00ve learned how to show my idea well, and the process of exhibiting and how to show well my idea to the exhibition place. I00’00ve learned that designers should think about the all processes one step more in case of unexpected situations. Of course they have to prepare what they need to prepare like me.02br

00And it continued to my love receipts exhibition at the end of the semester in 2002.02br

00I had an exhibition at art gallery with students who are majoring Fine Art. The professor chose me to make a pamphlet for the exhibition. I made through the discussion about a subject.02br

00I focused on the individuality we have and made it as one. It was really hard to take suggestions from all. I chose black and white. Because I tried to expose the audience to find our individuality.02br

00I used an object to paint these two works. I painted after my friend00’00s graduation concert. She plays the piano. I was inspired by Jean-Michel Basquiat. His way of the strong expression made me high. I used pieces of MDF as black keyboards.02br

00Another object painting. I tried to paint in other material. I painted in Styrofoam from the TV package and the cigarette butts. I was thinking about the Scream by Edvard Munch. I, myself, used to smoke. What about screaming the fact of addiction than screaming the fact of frustration. So, I handcuffed him. And there is a fire behind you that you can not get out of cigarettes both in the mouth and the fire.02br

00But I think I should do this more, because of the black in the back has too high of its saturation. It disturbs why he is screaming about.02br

00You know, I really like to go buying books at the bookstore. I00’00m crazy about notes as well as books! So, once I bought it, it00’00s filled out really fast with some ideas, diaries, sketches, drawings and even pictures. Every time you said to me that I00’00m the strangest man you00’00ve ever had? I think it00’00s true. All the strange things come out of these notes. I00’00ll show you what00’00s inside.02br

00What do you think? One of these notes is always with me. I think it helps a lot. These notes are using as design sources for my future works. Even now, I00’00m making a personal history when I get new ideas. Isn00’00t it cool?02br

00My friends proposed to the student council to hold an indi-film festival for their university festival. They were planning to play 4 movies at the top of the law school. Your head, your hands, your body, your life, your soul. Love yourself.02br
