Can anyone help me answer the following question?

Why are the following words significant to the poem, "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock"?

Etherized

If I knew what the answer is or any idea on how to answer this question, I wouldn't be asking ...

Among those words, I only know the meaning of "formulated" and "obtuse". Even both of those I only know their mathematical meanings. What's the "morning coat" here? Also, does "etherized" mean "being converted to ether"?
