Can anyone help check this writing exercise

Jeffrey Scott Buckley was an American musician. He was a singer-songwriter and guitarist known as Jeff Buckley. He was born in 1966 in Anaheim, California. He was the son of the famous songwriter Tim Buckley.
When he was 5 years old, he started to play the guitar. Growing up, (Singing and playing) Music had been an important part/role of his life, like for his father and also his mother who was a pianist.
His career began at around the age of 20 playing in locals, pubs and clubs with his old band.
1993, Jeff formed a new band and recorded the first and only album that he made: Grace. Grace is one of the most important milestones in music. Every song is full of emotions, strength, energy, sadness and melancholy. This is an album much like a compilation of entire works throughout his career, with different musical genres and style to play and sing, where stands out his most famous cover of a Leonard Cohen's song called Hallelujah.
In 1997 he died in a drowning accident in Wolf River Harbor before finished recording his second album.
