It is a "statement of purpose" in reference to an engineering course I applied to. I can't think of ways to start and end. This has always been a problem with me. "I believe I have had an inclination towards applied sciences since as long as I can remember. This prompted me to take a keen interest in mathematics and physics during school, where I scored 91.25% in my Intermediate examinations and also to pursue a degree in Mechanical Engineering afterwards. During the period of my studies here, in the Delhi Technological University, I was exposed to a wide variety of subjects, specialized branches in their own respect, like Mechanics of Solids, Design of Machine Elements, Fracture Mechanics and Fluid Mechanics. My score of 66 %( up to the 6th semester), may not qualify as “excellent”, but is certainly satisfactory and qualifies as “above average” in the department. My fascination with Fluid Mechanics started with our introductory course on the same, in which we covered a wide range of topics ranging from Hydrostatics to the study of the Euler’s equation. The limitation of analytical solutions in various processes has inspired me to study numerical approaches for the same and I can proudly say that I am at ease with Software packages such as Gambit, Fluent and Abaqus. My final year research project involves the modelling and analysis of the process of “Thermal Spray” using the aforementioned softwares. I wish to further my knowledge in this field of study by pursuing the “Fluids Engineering for Industrial Processes” course offered by your esteemed university. I have thoroughly studied the education program which comes under this particular course and in my humble opinion, it is well structured giving equal weightage to theory as well as modelling and numerical analysis and thus, perfectly suits my interests in analyzing complex industrial processes and helping in the streamlining of the same." I would be grateful if someone could point out my grammatical errors or improve upon the current text.
