Can anyone explain me please

Is it correct to say - I wish that day wouldn't have never ended also is it correct to say I wish that day couldn't have never ended?? Wouldn't have ended seems more correctly. Also what difference does it make if i say - I wish that day would've never ended or could've ended.

I suggest one of these: I wished that day would never end. (you wished it at the time) I wish that day had never ended. (you wish it now) The double-negative combinations "wouldn't never" and "couldn't never" are never good English.

Teacher, can we also say "I wished the day had never come. "? What would it mean, please?

'I wasn't looking forward to that day,' would be at that moment, while 'I wish that day had never come' would be now, thinking back. It means what it says, you wish the sun had never risen on that day of your life when your car broke down, your girlfriend dumped you and your dog bit your leg after the roof started leaking and the electricity went out.

Yes, it's possible.

You had a bad/unwelcome day in the past, and also in the past you wished that day had never happened, and you are describing that wish now.

Thanks, GPY, for your response. So, the 'bad/unwelcomed' day was before I wished. Have I got that right, please?

It could be past or present at the time of wishing. It could not be future, else you would say "I wished the day would never come".

How about that, I wish that day would've never ended Or wouldn't have ended? I'm talking about the past here
