Can anyone check this, please??

This is the topic: "Men and women will never be equal, for they have different responsibilities and different roles to play in society. Discuss."

Different but equal?
During the last decades, women have tried very hard to rip the manacles of inequality. While it is true females have made tremendous gains in the existing chauvinistic society, it is also true “a glass ceiling” still exists for us, women, which should be broken.

On the one hand, the female gender have proved that they are not less than men. Passing the women’s job barrier, women have demonstrated they are as intelligent and capable as men to perform any job and assume any responsibility. From just doing traditional jobs such as housework and sewing, the female gender blazed trails in areas like the army and politics. Consequently, men stopped being the breadwinner and women the housewife. This meant that the opposite gender had to help do the chores.

On the other hand, gender equality is a battle that still needs to be fought. Even though women have obtained a wide variety of employment opportunities, they are still discriminated. No matter how many laws have been enacted to guarantee equality, women are deprived of being not only promoted but also equally paid. Moreover, the image of women as the only responsible of the housework is deeply rooted in our society. Many men refuse to share the domestic chores because they have a macho attitude.

Beyond doubt, gender segregation exists. Therefore, we cannot stand by and permit unequal treatment in the 21st century. We have to join together to validate our voices from the cradle. Men and women must realize their respective equal roles and strive to complement each other in their shared struggle to improve life. Obviously, the changes that are made today will ensure equality for the women of tomorrow.

Thank you!!!
