Can anybody with a good heart check my speech out?

Our teacher gave us this theme: "The Struggles of a Modern Agnesian in Keeping Benedictine Faith". Basically its just about the obstacles that keeps us from maintaining the benedictine values the school (St. Agnes Academy) had taught us.

I would be really glad if you could take a look at the speech I wrote. Please leave any comments and suggestions thank you.

In the world that we belong, there are things that will always keep us from what we want to be, and what we want to do. Just like you and me, and all the Agnesians have our own dreams. But many of us do not notice, that these things can be an obstacle to us in keeping Benedictine faith.

We are at the point of our lives where we make our own decisions. But that doesn’t mean that we won’t be needing the guide that our parents give us. Some of us may look strong on the outside, but the truth is, all of us are not invincible; all of us are fragile and delicate. We’re easily influenced by our friends and what the social media delivers to our minds.

The software and different technologies were invented to make our lives comfortable and easier. They help us with our different projects and homework. But it has its disadvantages too. Instead of spending some time alone with God, students usually choose to spend their time playing games and watching movies until the end of the day.

Every member of this school once dreamed of getting up to the stage and have high grades on different subjects. Some people work their way up by studying and learning things, but some people prefer the other way. They drag others down together with them. If they can’t go up, then they won’t just let others go up too. They were too desperate that they even forgot to keep values they should have. They even forgot what a real Agnesian should be.

As an Agnesian, what are you expected to be? We are expected to be humble and obedient. We all want to fulfill the high expectations of the people towards us, but cheating is not the way. Being humble is. If you low yourself down, follow the rules and know your limitations, you can absolutely get on top of the mountain. You may be the last person to arrive, but the important is that you did your best to get on top, and you didn’t give up.

Let us not let our emotions control ourselves. We should avoid doing things God would not want us to do. We should not let the dark overcome the light—the light that we only have in our lives. Because, there may be a million of struggles and obstacles that keep us from our faith, but God would want us to not give up, not now, and never.
