Can anybody help me with my IELTS task 2?

Topic: "Popular events like the football World Cup and other international sporting occasions are essential in easing international tensions and releasing patriotic emotions in a safe way.

To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?"

In the 21st century, global tensions are being reduced and patriotic spirits are being simulated by worldwide sporting events in a good way. This is quite accurate and we need to bring about more friendly occasions like those.

Firstly, events such as the World Cup or the SEA Games play an integral part in bridging countries and people together, despite their different political views. Since watching a sport can reduce stress, anxiety and depression; people all around the world can have so much joy and happiness, which makes them enjoy being and living all together more than seperating from one another. Secondly, when a global event becomes a part of people's lives, there is a high chance they will accept international issues as problems they have to tackle and worldwide concerns will not only be the governments' worries.

Such kind of international occasion not only easing tensions, bridging people but it also brings out the patriotic side inside each one of us. For example, the attenders feel proud and responsible because they are the representatives of their nation. If they win, all the country celebrates in joy. But if those do not succeed at the event, the people will come together, lift each other's spirit and that is the moment when a country becomes one.

In general, people are putting aside differences, erasing conflicts, being patriots in their country and also global citizens thanks to international sporting events. The world needs more, not just sporting, but all kinds of worldwide occasions to better this planet.
