A ride to the pros and cons of buses

On the 24th September 1928 the first taxi bus ran through Buenos Aires. Later called bus, it provided public transportation throughout the city, charging a low price for each passenger. As time went by, the bus underwent a series of changes that aimed at sophistication. Nowadays, this means of transport has become a widely- used mode of transportation around the city. However, many passengers have a love-hate relationship with it.

Many people feel that travelling by bus is an environmental way of getting around. This is clearly shown by the fact that they transport a large bunch of people. Naturally, the more people use it, the less cars are in the streets. Therefore, there is less pollution. An additional advantage of the bus is that it is cheap it is a fact that commuters and students who have a limited budget take advantage of its affordable price.

However, one major disadvantage of using this public transport is that it can get extremely overcrowded especially during busy periods. In addition to this, many exhausted passengers who usually return home back from work have to travel uncomfortably, smelling unpleasant odors and dealing with annoying people playing very loud music. Another, common drawback of buses is that they have an unreliable schedule. Even though people get out of their houses earlier than they usually do in order to catch the bus to be on time at school or work, they end up being late all the same either because it was late or because it never came.

Taking everything into consideration, I am inclined to believe that despite the fact that travelling by bus sometimes turn out to be an exciting nightmare, buses play an important role in society and are of greater importance for city dwellers, as well. Actually, they can be regarded as practical or even unreliable. However, it would be hard to imagine cities without their service.
