Most girls like cute and small animals such as rabbitsd or cats, but I am different. My favorite animal has a huge body, a big mouth and short legs. It looks dangerous, but it only eats vegetables. Because of its heavy weight, it usually stays in the water. My favorite animal is a hippo.
Many people ask me, “Why do you like hippos?” I think it is because of my doll. When I was little, I got a hippo doll and its name was “Hippo.” It has been my favorite toy since then. I played with it, slept with it, and even used it to fight with my brother. I knew what animal a hippo is, but I didn’t know “hippo” is an English word until I learned English. I thought “hippo” was Chinese at that time, so I tried to find it in a Chinese dictionary. I couldn’t find it. I thought the dictionary was bad, so it didn’t list the word “hippo.”
I have a lot of things about hippos. I have hippo vases, hippo dolls, hippo decorations and hippo shoes. They are all in my bedroom. My dad always says that my bedroom is a zoo with only hippos.
