Can an appositive that-clause have a complex sentence?

Hi,

They have a belief that they are normal and it is the other person who is wrong.

There is no comma after “and”.
Is the last part “it is the other person who is wrong” a part of their belief?
Or is it a result of their belief?

Hi,

As written, it is open to interpretation.

Compare
They have a belief that they are normal and that it is the other person who

That's what I wanted to know.

All my grammar books tell that if the sentence is

They believe that they are normal and it is the other person who is wrong.

we should consider the last part is in parallel with "They believe"

It would not be wise to omit either of the second thats in those structures, even if doing so is grammatically permissible. Parallelism in writing is always desirable.
