Can an adverb follow "How" in a question?

I'm reading a grammar book and it says that I can add an adverb after question words like this:

What precisely/exactly do you mean?

But it saw only an example with "what". So my question is, is it possible to do the same thing with How?

For instance:

How precisely many people will there be?

It doesn't sound well to me.

BoSsSyis it possible to do the same thing with How?

If you do it carefully.

How exactly do you do this? / How exactly does this work?

Differently, How exactly does this board have to be measured?

As already explained, How precisely many puts the cart before the horse.
