Can an adjective modify a verb?

Is there any case that an adjective can modify a verb? If so, I'd like to see any example. Thanks a lot in advance.

No. Don't be fooled by those adverbs that are homonymous with adjectives, like "late" and "fast". Fast" is an adjective in I caught the fast train to Glasgow , but an adverb in The train was going very fast .
