00Hi all,02br
02br
00 I am Vicky. I am speaking english from last 6 months but still I don't know proper usage of would and could. As would & could are past forms of will, could respectively so I think we can only use these in the following ways:02br
02br
00 I could do it, if you had helped me. --(talking about past--I think no problem with the sentence)02br
02br
00 If you have given me these documents earlier, I would have done this work many-many times back. --(Agian talking about past.Hence sentence is o.k.)02br
02br
00Now the things which confuse me a lot02br
02br
00 I would like to give thanks to sam on this auspicous ocassion. --(he wants to give thanks, not given yet means will ,will be appropriate as he is talking about future)02br
02br
00 Could I take leave of tommorrow ? --(could is past form of can. Again i guess sentence has some problem)02br
02br
00I have heard these sentences a lot of time.I want to know while the time of talking they were reffering to future(leave tommorrow,he is giving in present) but why they are using past form of verbs with it.030src/Themes/default/images/spacer.gif
