Can a spoonful be described as big?

How would you phrase the sentences please?

Since a spoonful is the amount contained in a spoon, it can't be big or small?
Don't give her too big a mouthful spoonful. She could choke on the food.

Which is correct?
The baby always cries between mouthfuls/ spoonfuls/ spoons as if I'm not feeding her fast enough.

The baby never opens wide the first spoonful/mouthful/spoon. She wants to make sure she likes the food before she takes big mouthfuls/spoonfuls/spoons.

Thank you
