In Britain, physicians (but not surgeons) have the courtesy title of 'Doctor' even if the have no doctorate. Dentishs don't.

If surgeons are not called "Doctor", how do we address them? (Where I live, a dentist with a basic degree is called, eg, Dr Yong. This, as you have said, is not correct.)

As you said, it may be correct in my country, but I think we are using the term wrongly. This comes about, I think, because the basic dental degree is Bachelor of Dentis
