C&O road

Question

Does anybody know what "the C&O road" means? It is related to railways, American, at least I think. It's in a song by Joan Baez, "Engine 143". Thank you!

The C&O Road is a reference to the routes taken on the C&O (Chesapeake & Ohio) Railroad
