came vs happened

When the morning ___ the murder was discovered.

a) occurred
b) came
c) arrived
d) happened

Ans:- (b)

I thought the answer would be (d).

Can anyone please guide why the answer is (b)?

It's just not idiomatic to say 'the morning happened'. 'Came' is very common. But you could also say that it 'arrived'.

It's just not idiomatic to say 'the morning happened'.

'Came' is very common.
But you could also say that it 'arrived'.
