came over and they left.

I was waiting nervously for her to look over in my direction but soon her parents came over and they left, leaving me upset and wondering when I would see her again.

Is the above natural?
Thanks

I debated whether I should include "together" after 'left'.

Thanks, Avangi.

Not necessary as the situation is made clear by:

leaving me upset and wondering when I would see her again.

Good point, Opti. I've argued this point with others. It may be because I'm a slow reader. I resent it when I have to go back and correct my assumptions as the new information unfolds. I love mysteries, but in a detective story the suspense serves a purpose. - A.

Avangibut in a detective story the suspense serves a purpose
That's a very good point! I didn't know I was accidentally creating suspense. I think the sentence will be better with together as I never intended to create a suspense feeling.
