came out

I didn't mean to be rude - it just came out like that.

Does this sentence mean, "I didn't mean that "he/she/someone" is rude - it just came out like that".?

Am I right? Please help me.

I can understand the meaning of "came out" to a small degree in this context. I will be glad if you explain the "come out" also so that I can grasp what it exactly means.

it just came out like that - the way/words I spoke don't reflect what I meant. For example, perhaps I used an angry tone of voice but I wasn't angry, perhaps I said something insulting/rude/bad-mannered by accident. Your words created the wrong impression.

Please help me.

No, this person is talking about themself, not another person.

I was rude but it wasn't on purpose. It wasn't my intention to be rude.

No Gary, I didn't mean to is all about your OWN actions.

You lose your balance and as a result shove me quite hard. You say "Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to push you. I just lost my balance."

You say something vulgar, but you didn't know it's considered a vulgar phrase because you are leaning English. "Oh, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to be rude. I didn't realize the wor
