Hi, 'This is a toy gift came in with Happy Meal that he brought from McDonald'

Please check if my use of 'came in' is gramarically correct in this clause. And whats even better choice for it. Thank You in advance.

Hi Terr,

Just use "came with" - no "in."

But there are a couple other problems.

Either "This is a toy that came with a Happy Meal that he bought (or got) at McDonald's." or "This toy came with a ..."

Hi, GG

I didn't know 'bought from' is wrong,
'a sale person sold a toy to me'
'I bought a toy from a sale person'

in this case, 'McDonald sold a toy to me'
'I brought a toy from McDonald'

why is it has to specify its a location

You bought something from somebody. ( bought a toy from a sale person )

You bought something at a place. (

Actually, I could live with "bought from" -- although YL's examples show more natural use -- but you had "brought from" which makes it sound like you carried it away from there. And I'm sure you did carry it away, but it's not nearly as natural as the verb "bought at" or "got at."

I don't see a problem using "came in". "This toy came in Happy Meal bought from McDonald's".

How about:

This toy came with/came in a Happy Meal from McDonald's.

(You need "a" in front of "Happy Meal.")
