Came back the following Monday

I went to Charleston on Thursday, and came back the following Monday.
We'll meet on Monday.
(informal) We'll meet Monday.

meet Monday sounds informal, doesn't it? Does came back the following Monday sound informal too? Is came back on the following Monday less informal?
