Calling on Migo

Hi Migo,

You seem to be a wizard with English grammar. Can I call upon you to look at the question that orginally brought me to this forum?

My introductory post with its topic is at the following link Complex sentences, restrictive clauses, and comma usage.

It is now a long thread, but a couple of key posts, I believe, are as follows:

A) here (references a posting in a newsgroup where various people provided their answers), and
B) a key post by taiwandave here.

taiwandave's post summarize's The Economist's Style Guide. I am curious if you would have anything to add.

You can certainly read the entire thread, if you wish, but, if you want the abbreviated version, then you can just review the highlighted posts.

I look forward to your response.

Hey, thanks for the vote of confidence. I'd have to say I'm more of a wizard at finding obscure exceptions to rules than I am at english grammar. The two do cross paths however.

 • I didn't have anything significant to add, but as I stated in my post I should have an answer from a "higher authority" in the near future.
