call sb vs call sb up

Hi, What's the difference between these two:

1. to call sb
-> Did she say she'd call me?
2. to call sb up
-> Did she say she'd call me up?

Thanks

Thanks MM. Just thought that to call sb up might be more... hmm... idiomatic.

I'd agree—in the sense that most phrasal verbs are more colloquial.
