Call out

Dear teachers...

Is 'call out' synonym with 'send for'?
  • Call him out and have the headsman to kill him.
  • Send for him and have the hitman to put a quick end to his life.
Am I right with this interpretation?
  • Father, did you send for me? (Somebody was sent in to bring me to my father?)
  • Father, did you call me out? (My father himself gave me a can't-miss call)
to call out = send for, evoke, summon, call forth.

Many thanks
