Call me as you see/check my message.

Call me as you see/check my message.

What I'm trying to convey, say through the above sentence is that you call me as soon as you have a look on my message.

I don't know what part of speech "as" is in the above construction but the only sense which seems to fit here is:

2 as (conjunction)

5 : while, when <spilled the milk as she got up>
[M-W's Col. Dic.]

What is your thinking on this? Does the use of "as" affect the overall legiblity?
