CAE writing part 1

Hello. I would be grateful if somebody could check my essay. The task was to write an essay between 220-260 words, where I had to discuss two methods(recycling, lowering energy consumption). I should have emphasized which is more effective. I had to provide arguments for my choice.

In my previous class a range of possibilities on how can inhabitants contribute to solve the environmental crisis was examined. My personal preferences lies within two of the proposed methods. I shall now present them.

Firstly, we have the recycling. A beauty of this solution comes with its efficiency. Being capable not only to reduce waste in natural, but also a resource shortages, I personally see it as a one of the most promising ways. If we take for example the aluminium reusage, we could have observed that it is not only gentle to the biosphere itself, it has indeed proven as more cost-effective and less energy-demanding than extracting this metal from the more conventional sources. Therefore I would recommend to support recycling in the long term.

Secondly, teacher has introduced us to the reduction of the energy consumption. While in general, people are keen on this idea, I do not believe that it would make any difference. Nuclear energy has given us the sufficient enough way to create power. Moreover, we should be able to sustain on this source for the next million years. What is the most crucial is that energy consumption itself has not shown any impact on environment. The responsibility resides on the methods, which we use.

To conclude, environmental catastrophe is bound to happen unless we take necessary precautions to stop it. The more the humanity waits, the worse it will get. However I think that reducing the energy consumption is not nearly as effective as recycling.
