By working through obstacles

By working through obstacles, we search for a new idea or a new answer, and for increased understanding of the problem.

The above sounds lame to me, and I'd like to revise it as the following. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks.

We work through/deal with/handle obstacles by understanding more of the problem and searching for a new idea or a new answer.

Thanks, Mister.

To make sure, does "working through" in the base sentence mean "confronting?"

And there is "we search" omitted in the bolded part, right?

By working through (=confronting) obstacles, we search for a new idea or a new answer, and (we search) for increased understanding of the problem.

confronted is correct in the context, taking into account this definition:

-------

work

to make way slowly and with difficulty : move or progress laboriously or with sustained effort<worked up from office boy to president>
