Grammar

By/ with/ through

1)Can I pay <by/ with> check?

2)An individual in modern society detaches herself/ himself from her/ his inner essence <by/ through> a show-off which is very fashion- oriented and superficial.

3) She inspires us <with/ through> her excellent writings and speeches.

Could you please tell me which one in the pairs is correct?
To me, for the first one, 'with' should be opted for and in the second and third, both could work.
Please clarify!

1) Can I pay by check?— 'With' cannot be used here; however, only 'with' can be used with 'a check'.

2) Individuals in modern society detach themselves from their inner essence
