By then

+ By Then: Tru?c m?t th?i di?m ? quá kh? hay tuong lai
. I will receive university degree in 9 month, by then I hope to have found a job

-----------------------------------------------------------
Hi everyone!

I saw this one when i was surfing some other english forums.

The first sentence is the explanation for "by then" and it says "by then" shows a point in time before 'a point in time in the past' or 'a point in time in the future' and it comes with an example.

I think i can understand what the example says, but feel something strange bout the second clause which is started by "by then" // "hope to have found a job by then" >> is that right or wrong? Becos personally, i often say "by then i hope i will have had a job already" [in case i also use the future perfect]

Thanks!

It is fine. Hope to do and Hope I will do are two ways of expressing the future.
