By the time

In the context: I need to go somewhere without telling the place in future tense. Can we say like this below?

I got to go at 7:00 pm. So, I will try to complete the task before leaving/ by the time.

I've got to go at 7:00 pm, so I'll try to complete the task before leaving.
OR
I've got to go at 7:00 pm, so I'll try to complete the task by the time I leave.

Both ways are OK. They have the same meaning.
